Bedroom Decisions....

image via here

A few months ago, I "designed" my friend Blair's dream bedroom.

I must be acting as a crystal ball these days, because she's about to move into a town-house and needs to actually decorate a room.

She told me I'm "hired".

So here goes.

Blair needs a headboard for a queen bed, a side table to sit in between two darling Louis XVI chairs, New bedding, and a dresser.

We also discussed having a perfume tray to sit atop a lingerie chest.

As previously discussed, she is VERY simple and likes a Hollywood Regency meets Antique French look.

Let's start with Headboards.

I personally think she should have a tufted headboard, but she isn't sure, so I'm giving both options.

Urban Outfitters

 West Elm

I think it's important that she keeps the headboard a neutral color.
Either a flax or grey linen or a light grey velvet.

For the end of her bed, in place of a footboard, I adore one of these tufted benches!

Wisteria

I love this little side table for in between her Louis XVI chairs!
It's from Wisteria as well, and it's perfect!

As for bedding, I think we should go for neutral with a punch of pattern.

Love all these options

Blair really wants a "french" looking dresser, and so far, this is the best option I've found.
Beautiful, Reasonably priced, Timeless.

As for perfume trays, I like these options.

 West Elm

Pottery Barn

I think her room will shape up pretty nicely!

Get ready for tomorrow my sweet readers! I'm revealing the almost finished beach house!
It's my first real decor job and I can't WAIT to share it!

Don Draper Does Palm Springs.....Lovin' it!

I may be a little late in the game, but tonight I finished the second season of Mad Men on DVD.

Although I'm now an avid watcher, Seasons 2 & 3 escaped me a little.

I almost screamed while watching, "The Jetsetter", when a mysterious woman whisks Don Draper off to PALM SPRINGS.

Don Draper = Amazing.
Manhattan + 1960's decor/fashion = Fabulous
 1960's decor/fashion + Don Draper + Palm Springs = HEAVEN ON EARTH!

The mid-century modern house they stayed it was AMAZING.

I also enjoyed Don's lady-friend's outfits.
Super Glam. And SUPER 1960's Palm Springs.

And if the whole scene wasn't great enough, they traveled to Palm Springs in a 1960's white Mercedes SL Roadster.

Can you tell I'm dying to visit?

It's like one mind, Kate Spade. ONE MIND.

I DIE (thanks R.Zoe) over these precious Kate Spade ensembles!
What a a great way to jump into spring!

Can you tell I'm mildly obsessed with pink lately?

These fun outfits deserve a fun room.

In which to drink vodka lemonades and feast on pastel macaroons.

How adorable is this pink couch?
It would be the perfect start to our little sitting room

With these sleek X-side tables

And two of these fun lamps for the side tables.

 Horchow

and a sleek black coffee table, that has a hint of Hollywood Regency inspiration

And this Jonathan Adler rug

And I would add a pretty lucite tray from iomoi

With this pretty red & pink print in it.

What do you think of Kate Spade's Pink outfits?

Are you a frequent wearer of the bubblegum color?

Another Note on Meg Braff....

I wanted to make another little note on designer Meg Braff that I spoke of yesterday.

Besides designing tons of FABULOUS spaces, she also has her own wallpaper and fabrics line.

You can find it here: Meg Braff Designs

A few of my favorite wallpaper designs below....

 Up A Tree

 Sampan

Love this red bamboo print on a neutral background. I would use it for a fancy dining room or perhaps a fun bathroom with high gloss red lacquer vanities!

How amazing would these look as his/hers sinks?!

 Sasa

Kikki

These wallpaper's are so fun and I love their mid-century modern feel.

They would look great with the mid-century pieces from Room Service  to accent them.

These are all great choices....

Which wallpaper and furniture combination would you choose?

Design Obsession......Meg Braff

I am notoriously the technically-un-saavy one in my family.

Something I was reminded of today when I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get the images out of the new Coastal Living.

Because I am in LOVE with the West Palm Beach home of designer, Meg Braff.

Again, I was so desperate to share the images, that I snapped them with my iPhone.

Look at her closet. TO DIE FOR.

Of course the magazine article made me curious about other homes in her portfolio.

And they're just as gorgeous.

What I really like about Meg's work is that her range is so wide. She can do the classic 1960's Palm Beach look or she can execute a more paired down demure aesthetic. My favorite designers are the one's that have a whole bunch of looks up their sleeve!
