Faux Bamboo...I LOVE you.

I know they seem super trendy right now, but I'm REALLY into faux bamboo chairs.

I like to think that with my love for 1960's Palm Beach decor and Hollywood Regency style, that they're sort of a staple for me.

For the past few months I've been scouring eBay for these beauties, only to find chairs for $250 + each.

NOT in my budgetary constraints right now.

 My love for these chairs was majorly exascerbated when I saw this chic dining room in the first issue of High Gloss Magazine designed by Erin Gates

So, on Saturday I was trolling the Fort Worth flea market 

and I found 5 faux bamboo chairs with a matching dining table.

I'm not going to tell you what a SCREAMING deal I got,

because it's not even FAIR.

Right now, they're a light colored wood finish with leopard upholstery.

Not really my style.

I'm planning to paint and recover them, but I can't make a decision on exactly what I want them to look like.

First, do I want to white lacquer them?

Paint them a gloss black? Or a fun color? Aqua? Orange?

Second, what fabric am I using for the seat cushions?

I'm thinking something fun and bright.

Probably turquoise or orange.

I'm still OBSESSING over this Quadrille Fabric.

I think it would look A-M-A-Z-I-N-G on white lacquered chairs.

And some other alternatives....

Love this citrine trellis, but, is it over-done?

Also love the super sixties look of this Trina Turk fabric.

These new chairs are making me want to change my dining room completely.

Right now it has sort of a rustic french look with a farmhouse table, classic black chairs and lots of mercury glass.

I'm thinking I want a tulip table to replace the current dining table situation.

Carerra Marble..... My one true LOVE.

How much do I love thee carrera marble?

Let me count the ways.

I would live in a house constructed of carrera marble with mercury glass

windows if that were architecturally feasible.

In fact, most other counter materials kind of offend my lady-like sensibilities.

Yep, that's me throwing up in the background during every

HGTV "Our First Place" and "House Hunters" where they're going

"OMG, this kitchen has granite countertops!"

YUCK. Yah, you and every other track-home IN THE WORLD.

Anyway, when I saw a photo of the kitchen in Veranda's "House of Windsor" showhouse designed by Windsor Smith, I squealled with delight at the carrera marble sink.

Farmhouse sink + Carerra Marble= TO DIE FOR.

And I'm pretty ok with the rest of these beauties too...

Wedding Wednesday.... Destinations!

Last night I was watching one of my favorite movies, You, Me, and Dupree.

It's one of my fail safe movies for falling asleep to, so I usually just watch the first 30 minutes.

I just love Kate Hudson and Matt Dillon's destination wedding in Hawaii.

They just seem so relaxed!

I love this first scene where the couple is drinking cocktails and playing a board game together.

Anyway, it got me thinking about destination weddings.

And how they are always so dreamy.

I have long been obsessed with this fancy schmancy beach-time wedding....

I love how it's formal and casual all at the same time.

Fancy, but not stuffy.

And how they're white and tan palette is so calming against the soft aqua ocean.

And I just couldn't help putting a pretty Destination Wedding inspiration board......

A Birthday Shoutout to my Sweet Man-Friend!

I've never done this, but today, I'm giving a 29th Birthday Shout out to my sweet boyfriend, Brian.

I'm giving myself full license to do so, because I'm not one of those crazies that

plasters their love for their significant other all over the social media world.

I have never once made a facebook status along these lines...

"OMG, Love my BF! Just brought me flowers and chocolates and told me I was the most beautiful girl in the world! AH!"

Because that's just not my style.

If you ARE one of those girls, no offense, I'm not judging you.... much.

Brian is a total sweetie pie though.

And my best friend.

He always washes the dishes, takes long walks with me and our corgis, Trump & Trammell, and always has words of encouragement or wisdom to bestow upon me in even the darkest of hours.

This is what Brian or "B" as I like to call him looked like right after I met him 3 yrs ago.

This was taken about a month after his 26th Birthday.

Wedding Friday..... Neutrals or Colors?

A few months ago, I posed the question, Are you a Neutralista or a Colorista?

Then, I was talking about interiors.

Now, I want to know your wedding style.

My plan is to have one of my wedding photos taken in the spot above,

at the Parker Palm Springs Hotel.

While I usually think that I'll want a completely neutral palette when I get married, 

this wall and orange doors suggest something different.

I am constantly pouring over wedding photos on blogs and in magazines and I find myself completely taken with the colorful weddings, but also with the muted neutral affairs.
