Accessorizing on Etsy

Things have been a changin' over at my house.
This is my living room as it's standing now.

A little bit of a stretch from where it was last spring.
I got the new blue tufted sofa, and these fun ivory lacquered mid-century green chairs.
I also lost the black coffee table to two ferocious corgis, so the square ikea one is a placeholder until I find the Lucite one I dream of. Since I've gone from orange/pink to blue/green, I'm in serious need of new accessories.

So I thought it would be fun to come up with an accessory plan off of Etsy.

If you don't shop Etsy already, you need to.

It's like a great flea market, online.
And if you don't have a great one in your city (which Fort Worth does, thankfully!) it can be a great resource for everything from Lighting to Pillows to vintage accessories.

I'm loving cheeky mid-century objects, Like this cute golden owl, who would be very happy on my coffee table

And I think this pretty green ceramic vase would tie my sofa and chairs in together nicely!

Dying over this fun ikat Lucite tray for my coffee table!

And I'm loving the color combinations of this lovely Murano glass bowl!

And I think these pillows from Woody Liana on Etsy, may need to be mine for my new green chairs.

What accessories make your living room pop?

It's Friday.... and I'm in Love!

It's Friday, so we're going to talk about things I love.

In my mind, only positive things should occur on Fridays.
Even on the 13th.

A little taste of what I'm LOVING right now.

This custom ivory lacquer and Lucite desk from Again & Again in Dallas.
I can't get over how much I need this.

Love it. Wish they made it in pink, but whatevs.
This has got to be the happiest table I've ever seen

Everything from Reem Acra's Resort 2013 collection.
Especially these mint gowns.

I can't get enough of mint right now, so I'd love these Jack Rogers jellies in mint & white.
Maybe it's being a product of the 90's, but jellies are a summer must-have for me.

This super fun wallpaper from Whimsey Chronicles.
Need this in a bathroom. Stat.

Cannot even tell you how obsessed I am with her line. It's super fabulous.

Happy Friday Everyone!!

Emerald Envy

I'm just LOVING Emerald green right now.

It's such a sexy, sophisticated color.

I feel like I'm cheating on Jennifer Aniston for saying this, but Angelina Jolie rocks emerald green.

How fun to have a gorgeous vintage car in emerald.

Of course, the shoes would be cheaper.

Pure Genius from Ever Swoon

Have ya'll come across Ever Swoon yet?
Well, if you are working the "wedding circuit" like I am, you need to check it out.
And pass it on to a bride-friend or to yourself, if you're about the tie the knot.

Ever Swoon is a boutique Event/Wedding planning and styling company created/owned by Tamra Sanford.
I became familiar with Tamra before the birth of Ever Swoon, through her blog, Walks with Bella
She's a girl after my own heart, originally from Texas---pursuing her dreams in NYC.

And her taste is FABULOUS, to say the least.
She designed the wedding above. Totally gorgeous and totally swoon-worthy---- her company name is very fitting.

Tamra and her cute husband on their wedding day.

As cute as she could be!

Anyway, this little story does have a point.

Whenever I see engagement shoots like this, I think
I WANT THAT!!!

And then I remember that I want a VERY expensive wedding dress and probably couldn't afford to spring for another fabulous gown to take my engagement pics in.

Enter Tamra, who is still writing a fabulous blog, now on Ever Swoon's website.
I'm constantly perusing it, being the wedding addict that I am, and when I saw her post on an engagement shoot she styled a few weeks ago, I was floored.

And I thought, "This chick gets not one, but TWO fabulous outfit changes?!"

And then Tamra laid out some of her Fabulous-Stylisty wisdom.

These dresses are RENTED.

I felt like Carrie Bradshaw---Wondering how her new assistant could possibly afford a $2K bag without a job.

I don't know why that had NEVER occured to me before.

The cocktail dress above came from Rent the Runway, and the fabulous ballgown came from The Albright Fashion Library.

As you know from this post, I am seriously jonesing to do an engagement shoot a la Brangelina's in W Magazine---"Domestic Bliss"

In honor of Tamra's oh-so-fabulous idea and the my future engagement shoot,
I thought I'd put together a few engagement shoot outfits via Rent the Runway.
Sixties inspired and ultra-GLAM.

By the way----MAJOR Obsession with the wedding version of the dress above by Reem Acra

Olivia Wilde wore it to the Oscars.

Now, doesn't this Badgley Mischka dress off RTR look just peeeerfect for a New Year's reception dress?

Oh, not for me, for a friend....wink wink.

And if you need help planning a wedding, give Miss Tamra a ring!

Where has the time gone?

Where oh where has the time gone?

I realized yesterday that I hadn't posted since the END of May.
It's been a busy busy month. So, as my entre back into blogging in this stinking hot July, I thought I'd do a recap of my past month.

I attended a few summer concerts in the Botanic Gardens in Fort Worth.

And used my Tory Burch jellies as a cup-holder.

I brought a group of girls to my parent's beach house in Galveston for a bachelorette weekend.
I would talk more about it, but what happens in Galveston, stays in Galveston.

I received a few cute, Corgi related emails from my friend Jackie.

And spent lots of time laying in bed with the real things.

I went on the Dukan Diet----The same plan that Kate Middleton did before her nuptials.

I attended a fabulous party for the opening of the Timothy Oulton store in Dallas.

He designs for Restoration Hardware and although the super industrial thing is no longer my flavor,
the setup was amazing and so creative.

I also decided that I will be using this idea for my future wedding. One long wooden block,
covered in banana leaves and a huge array of cheeses.
DONE.

I attended a beautiful wedding at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs.
Which should also be known as, Heaven on Earth.

I celebrated Brian's 30th birthday with him by hiking around Pikes Peak.

I went to a Bridal Luncheon pool party and decided that I rather like sunning myself in a pretty cabana with yellow and white striped curtains.

I also rather like partaking in situations seen on Pinterest.

How has your last month treated you?
