So, I'm kind of really into Elaine Turner right now.
I love love love visiting her boutiques, especially the flagship store in Houston (right down the street from my parent's house!) because they always give me the warmest feeling.

If ever there were a designer who embodies the gloriousness of 1960's Palm Beach, It's Elaine Turner.
A few of my faves from her right now......
Lynn Rafia Clutch
Marilyn Canvas Clutch
Taylor Croc Leather Crossbody Clutch
Danielle Grasscloth Oversized Tote
Page Zig Zag Flat

How darling is she?
Every time I see a picture of Miss Elaine, I want to steal her outfit. LOVE the white trench dress!
Looking at Elaine's Spring 2011 collection got me wishing that she would design a home furniture/accessories line. There are some odds and ends available in her store, but I want MORE!
What I thought, would a room designed in her honor look like?
So I found some inspiration.....

Ok, I know this isn't a room, but I love the colors in this wedding invitation suite!

So I'll be mocking up a formal living room in honor of Ms. Turner....
Of course you would enter through a pink front door.
I would have the walls covered in tan grasscloth like the photos below.
I have to admit, I'm deathly afraid of bright colors in my own house, which is something I'm trying to get over. This room would be super bright, but it would need to be grounded with some neutrals.
Like this couch from HighFashionHome
Then I would add this gorgeous console from Pieces in Atlanta
West Elm
The white stools would flank the couch as side tables
The accent colors in this room would be pink and turquoise.
Very 1960's Palm Beach and VERY Elaine Turner
I like that it's not the expected pink and green combo
Horchow
ZGallerie
I would flank the console with two of these pink bamboo chairs, also from Pieces in ATL
I would use this gold mirrored coffee table from High Fashion Home
With two python covered X-benches from Pieces sitting in front of the coffee table
Opposite the couch I would add two high backed 1960's style armchairs...
Covered in one of these fabulous fabrics....
Calico Corners
Trina Turk for Schumacher
I would add one of these chandeliers above the sitting area
Horchow
Pieces
This white cowhide rug from Pieces would ground the colorful sitting area
I would add this pink Jonathan Adler throw
For pillows, I would start out with Neutrals
Etsy
And then go crazy with pink and turquoise prints!
Jonathan Adler
Etsy
Trina Turk
Woody Liana on Etsy
For Accessories, I would add pretty coffee table books, especially Dorothy Draper's IN THE PINK
And a turquoise coral from ZGallerie.....
And Voila! A room Ms. Turner would be proud of!
